If they installed via yum/rpm/dpkg/apt-get/..., simply remove these
packages.

And don't forget /lib/modules/$KERNEL_VERSION. And perhaps the .h files
are somewhere installed too.

If you `rm -rf` the kernel source directory, you can skip the `make
mrproper`.
