If blogs about the Linux kernel is what you're looking for. I suggest
you start with http://kernelplanet.org/. It's an aggregate of a great
deal (but not all) of people who work on the kernel.

Other places to look might be the Linux Kernel Mailing List itself.
Just sit around reading some messages for a while. Take note whenever
you see someone complaining about something. A problem == a project.
Think of it that way. :)

Or go anywhere that tracks bugs, or performs benchmarks, and pick
something lacking, and work on it! Try something like the Unix Hater's
Handbook, or a silly site like http://linuxhaters.blogspot.com/. Take
any problem mentioned in a place like that, and fix it.

There is an endless amount of work to be done, let alone ideas to work on. ;-)
