What is the significance of Boot flag ???

BIOS looks for boot flag to determin which
partiton to find bootloader. That is if you have
installed grub in two differnt partitions say /dev/hda5
and /dev/hda7, boot partition will point either to
/dev/hda5 or /dev/hda7.

Its for user to select using `which fdisk`

and the there are K for RAID and LVM partitions what are those ?

Are you talking about partition id? Other than this
i do not know this 'K'.
