Dear Subscribers, After browsing the web for several hours I turn to you to get an answer. As stated in LDD3 p.436 the function get_user_pages can return fewer pages than requested (have already seen this during testing). Though I have not been able to find an explanation why it would do it, and how to act when it does. After browsing the source code of some other drivers in the kernel that use get_user_pages, I have seen that most of them return an error message (various flavors: -ENOMEM, -EINVAL, -EFAULT) and let the user handle it. The thing is that I also don't know what the 'user' should do if this error occurs. Does any of you know how to handle this correctly ? Regards, Tom P.S.
