CONFIG_LBD allows to use block devices larger than 2^32 sectors on 32
bits machines (on 64 bits machines, there's no problem). So CONFIG_LBD
has no relation with a particular I/O scheduler.

Concerning the effects on MTD, I must say I don't know.

However, 2^32 sectors means 2 Terabytes, and I don't think that 2
Terabytes flash exists these days.
