Hi Ramagudi
I try to build a new kernel in Ubuntu 7.04.
I did "make", "make modules_install", "make install" successfully.
now i did "update-grub".

In fedora, this would be enough.
But now in Ubuntu, I see that there is no new initrd.img.

and indeed i can't boot into the new kernel.

I get "Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs...".

do anyone knows what to do ? is there a way to manually make
the initrd ?
Try "mkinitrd". For full explanation of this command, read the related man pages.

regards,

Mulyadi
