Confusion regarding GDT and PGD

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi

For linux on x86 platform, we have 4 level paging i.e. PGD, PUD,PMD
and PTE (according to UTLK) or atleast PGD , PMD and PTE. Now there is
something called global descriptor table (GDT) and local descriptor
table (LDT). What is the relationship between these two things? What
is the relationship between GDT and PGD if any?
Can someone explain these things clearly?
