I just did a grep for end-of-line whitespace in the 2.6.21-rc6-git2 tree and it found 55,256 lines with it. I was also going to look for space-instead-of-tabs and some other things, but that result surprised me. I also did a wc -L on the tree, and in addition to finding 10,819 files with at least one line width 80 or greater, I got a whole lot of "Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character" messages. Should I start submitting patches to maintainers, or would I just be wasting everybody's time? (I do appreciate the help everybody's been giving me on this and other kernel lists. I know it must get tiresome to deal with new people like me so often, but your assistance is really helping me pick it up faster than I would on my own, especially with my time limited by a full-time job.) -- To unsubscribe from this list: send an email with "unsubscribe kernelnewbies" to ecartis@xxxxxxxxxxxx Please read the FAQ at http://kernelnewbies.org/FAQ
