regarding the properties of the "mutex" locking mechanism, the file Documentation/mutex-design.txt claims: ... Disadvantages ------------- The stricter mutex API means you cannot use mutexes the same way you can use semaphores: e.g. they cannot be used from an interrupt context, ... but i thought semaphores *also* can't be used from interrupt context. or am i somehow misreading this? thanks. rday -- ======================================================================== Robert P.
