how to debug console hung?

Hi,

This is a very strange problem. The console hung but ping to it is ok.
Ssh to it seems to be ok but there is no shell.

This is 2.4.31 (I know the kernel is ancient but I have no choice to
maintain it). I have kdb and LKCD built-in. I was able to use ctrl-A
to break into kdb as well as using sysrq-key (i.e. send break). I also
cause a LKCD dump but could not identify the problem. The current
running process is swapper.

The login process is still there but no "bash" process anymore. There
are several cron processes which is kind of unusual. I am suspecting
they are struck waiting for some resources?

I don't think it is a spinlock problem otherwise I should be able to
find it through kdb.

Any suggestion that I should look for.
Thanks.

- Tony
