Re: kernel version in embedded projects

Hello!

And what kind of support you want. If you want to work on your own, you
can use any kernel version you want. If you want to have community
support, the only possible kernel is the latest stable (2.6.20 right
now).

But what if projects have tough memory constraints, what kernel branch would be more capable to do the job? I guess 2.4. And one more relevant question: do you think it's not reasonable to spend time studying/understanding network stack of 2.4, assuming there're a lot of things changed and added in 2.6 ? Is it worthy to invest time and efforts in to 2.6?
