Add something to the EXTRAVERSION= line of the main kernel Makefile.
For example, if you change the line to EXTRAVERSION=foobar, your
modules will be installed in /lib/modules/2.6.15.4-foobar/, and your
vmlinuz image will be named vmlinuz-2.6.15.4-foobar.
