I have 2 modules which access the Super-IO port on my PC-87366
during their respective module-inits.
Should I protect against simultaneous use ? Or is it overkill ?
Its an embedded-PC, so actual smp is out, but preempt-rt is on horizon..
ISTM that protection is good, but linux favors practicality 1st, hence
the Q.
If yes, then Id welcome any comments on:

I understand that dependencies are solved in user-space, by modprobe.
This suggests that the mod-init purposely avoids the locking,
or maybe that it simplifies away deadlock issues, allowing basic locking
to be safe.
I dunno.
