RE: kernel panic

Hi,

Please look for the discrepancy between...

title Red Hat Linux (2.4.20SAHUTEST)
        root (hd0,0)
        kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.20SAHUTEST ro root=/dev/hda3
        initrd /initrd-2.4.20SAHUTEST.img
title Red Hat Linux (2.4.20-8)
        root (hd0,0)
        kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.20-8 ro root=LABEL=/
        initrd /initrd-2.4.20-8.img
The first option is incorrect where in you have specified root=/dev/hda3,

specify the same what you have specified for second option..

I guess you are trying to boot with option 1, where you are getting error at boot time.

CMIAW.
