In the Window manager, I would have thought.

So, you mean to say , that every keyboard hit is monitored by the Window manager ?

or am i missing something ?

My understanding is that , the device driver which would have claimed the interrupt line,
would give the data to the Process in the read call, currently executing ,

    so how does this
data go to the Window Manager , i think that's what i'am missing !

One more question in my mind ,  Can a Process ever get these keys or are they just
absorbed only by the Window Manager and never propogated to the Processes?
Please , can someone throw some more light !

    Thank you.

    Cheers.
