no I mean that the PCI card should itself contain a DMA engine.
Eg it needs to be a PCI Bus Master

You seem to not understand the PCI model!

The PCI model is that PCI Bus Masters *themselves* have a DMA engine.
There is no generic DMA engine on the cpu or motherboard.
(again experimental motherboards excluded)
