Apply KDB patch  and  enable nmi_watchdog  boot param.

KDB  may pop-up a shell after freeze  due to watch dog timeout and u  dump the printk buffer.

It was helpful for me in 2.5.43 kernel debugging some freeze.

Hope it will help

Dear All ,

Hardware is an AMD Athlon laptop.

I wanted to know how to troubleshoot a sytem freeze. It freezes completely no mouse movement keyboard does not work. Hard reboot and I find nothing in the logs. Kernel is 2.6.14. I have noticed this happening after upgrading my kernel from 2.6.13.4 to 2.6.14.
