what does owner "32" mean?

Hello all,

in relation to a previous post (segmentation fault in top command), I
did a ls -l of my /usr/bin dir. Here's an extract

-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root      28676 2005-06-26 21:13 toe
-rwx--xr-x  1   32 root    2146540 2005-01-02 17:45 top
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root         10 2004-10-22 21:24 touch -> /bin/touch

What does owner 32 mean in top? Also, notice the size of the file! It is
indeed corrupted, as well as a series of other binaries in the same dir.
How could this come to happen.

Regards,

Jose
