Networking controm from C sources

Hi everybody,

I'm in charge of porting a vxWorks C/C++ application to a Linux environment.
In the original programm, we do some networking operations as ping, ftp and dhcp.
VxWorks offers some very useful librairies that allow us to do that easily.
But is there a Linux library that offers the same tools? Cause when I'm browsing the
web for that I only find shell scripts while I need C routine.
Tks a lot for your precious help!

Jérémie
