..about PCI configuration space..

hello k-landers,
i'm getting confused on the address space of PCI configuration space when we talked abt PCI I/O space and PCI Memory space. (don't advice me to look on rubini's book---).
i feel that when the computer starts, the linux initialization code scans the pci_devs anything inserted on the pci slot. then, it maps the share memory(status register, command,i/p buffer etc) on the high memory end of physical RAM etc.And what abt the PCI configuration space and the PCI I/O space??? where did they get mapped??? i'm really really doubtful on this logical address space of I/O, Memory Mapped and how they are mapped onto actual physical RAM on x86 m/cs as far as pci devices are concerned. pliz let me some help regarding this issue.

regards,
sushil
