PCI-X in Linux

Greetings!

I would like to know from which kernel version does Linux have PCI-X
(PCI Express) support.

I am able to read the configuration space even if I simply had PCI
support. I am wondering if we need any kernel support for memory
read/writes on a PCI-X card.

Regards,

K Shakthi
