Compressed caching

Hello,

I've found a few documentation and patches about compressed caching in the LVM. But I could not figure out if linux already have something like that.

Do the linux kernel has something like this? Is there anybody working on it? Or is it not so interesting as it appears to be?

As this is a primary question, I think the kernelnewbies list is a better list than linux-mm or linux-kernel.

Thanks in advance for any comments.
