I downloaded 2.6.8 kernel from kernel.org
There is linux-2.6.8 and linux-2.6.8.1
What is linux-2.6.8.1 ? this is the first time I see four number series from kernel.org. Is this new to 2.6 ?
It contains a fix for an NFS problem that was found VERY shortly after releasing 2.6.8. We may or may not see this numbering in the future.
