how to test hotplugability for pci driver?

hi list,

i've written a PCI driver for a 2.4.18 kernel. I want to
test hotplugability of my driver, how do i go about it???
I've seen the script in /sbin/hotplug which would internally
use the pci.agent file (for a pci device), but i don't know
what all parameters to pass to this file. Also, do i have to
modify the modules.pcimap (might have got the name incorrect..)
in /lib/modules/2.4.18/...???

thanx for ur time
