Updating Kernel 2.6.0 to 2.6.5

Hi all,

I am currently running linux 2.6.0 and want to install linux 2.6.5
When compiling the new kernel I get compilation errors when compiling

fs/proc/array.o

When I remove the support for procfs it compiles fine, but still
dosn't run. During boot I get lots of errors that it can't access
/proc/* (which makes sense, since there's no /proc) and then it stucks.

At any rate, I would like my 2.6.5 kernel to have procfs support.

Any idea?

My current linux has:

Gnu C 2.96-110
Gnu make 3.79.1
binutils 2.14.90.0.7
util-linux 2.11n
module-init-tools 0.9.14
procps 3.2.1
