xfrm description

Hi,

Can anyone tell me where I can find some description/intro/info
about xfrm? Or just explain it to me? What is it used for
(maybe, how?)? What do I have to read to understand what it is?
What does the name "xfrm" stand for, anyway, transform? :)

I see in the kernel that it is used for security/tunneling things.

Thanks in advance,
Gabor
