I was suggesting you add your own function pointer, and registration and de-registration functions (similar to how the kernel supports multiple filesystems), use EXPORT_SYMBOL to get those registration and de-registration functions available, and work from there. I suppose other options, completely different, are tools such as dprobes and kprobes.
