You'll probably need to install the module-init-tools, as mentioned in
the Changes file.

You'll probably want to check your /etc/modules.conf file against the
modules actually available in the 2.5.x kernel you're trying to boot
into. If the modules aren't available in 2.5.x, you should either find
their replacement, or figure out if you actually need that module any
more...
