Mmmh... you're attempting to compile kernel related stuff... so I guess the 
best thing you can do is putting your sources behind udp.c in the proper 
Makefile, than adding the necessary configuration file (Config.in) so a user 
can select to enable your protocol. You may read documents about creating 
kernel patches to have more references...

What about this protocol? Which goals is it going to satisfy?
