Doubt on rebooting a Local CPU on PCI Card

Hi,
I have a PCI Card (Local CPU) on a linux machine which runs VxWorks. I would like to reset the Local CPU without rebooting the Host machine.
To get back the Local CPU in operational state, does simply copying the config space contents (backup taken before reset) suffice or any extra steps involved.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
anj
