Yes, i know agetty should exit - although i assume (rightly?) that it
should run the shell (from /etc/passwd) for me after it exits.

i've tried the inittab already so that it respawns, but of course as
previously mentioned, i still cant login, even with the correct password.
But i think you're right to have a look at securetty.

i will be sure to strace to find out what's going on too..
