I was given an assignment in my CS 270 OSs class asking me to impliment a fair sharing scheduler into the linux kernel. We've never talked about kernel programming before, and I'm hopelessly lost in the world of c and kernel programming. DO you have any hints as to where I might start, what kind of things I need to code, and where to put them? Any help or resources you could offer would be wonderful. I've looked at various patches available (written by Rik) but they're far too advanced for what we're trying to do. Thanks Jonathan -- Kernelnewbies: Help each other learn about the Linux kernel.
