Anyone use kgdb for kernel "development"

 Greeting All,

I tried to use kgdb for kernel 2.4.2-2 "development" and after
downloading kgdb stub patch from kgdb.sourceforge.net

# cd linux-2.4.2-2-kgdb
# patch -p1 < ~/linux-2.4.2-2-kgdb.patch
#make menuconfig

then went down to "kernel hacking", but I do not see choice for "Remote
(serial) kernel debugging with gdb". Only the kernel debugging is
checked. What I am missing?

I wonder this is right place to ask the question. Thank you,
P.S. is there a place I can download linux-2.4.2-2.tar.bz2
