unable to decompress the kernel image

hi,

I'm using kernel version 2.4.7 with freeS/WAN patch for IPSec with IPv6
support built into the static kernel.

Everything seemed to be working fine, and I added some printks in the IPv6
code for understanding interaction with freeS/WAN. Since then, I'm not able
to boot the machine using the recompiled image. The screen shows "Loading
image name ......." and stops. Even if I remove the printks and do a make
clean followed with make bzImage, the same result.

Is there something wrong that I did? Is there is some problem with using
printks? But such a problem should occur during run-time, why would it
effect image building? I'm completely baffled

regards
suvidh
