Some time ago, I have seen something that could resolve your problem.
It worked in a ppc750 (and not with a linux kernel) but the idea was
that, in the boot process, the memory was not ''cleaned'' and just a few
bytes were corrupted (the first 8 bytes in every 64k, I suppose...).
So, the ideia is to store the data in the memory that was not corrupted.

Don't know if this works in other ppc versions...
