Hi There,

I have a USB scanner Acer 3300U & I want it to work under Linux.
I have 2.4 Kernel (Mandrake 8.1) installed.

What all should I do in order to make it work?
Please let me know all the minor details....(U can give some good links
for the same).

I have tried a lot : recompiled kernel 2.4 with USB support.
(Tried compiling USB support into kernel & also tried opting for Module
support for USB .....). Nothing seems to be working.

Please let me know how to re-compile the kernel & what selections are to
be made at each stage. ( I use "make config" to compile the kernel).

Please let me know which SANE version will support the scanner.
What changes should I make to the ".conf" files? What about firmware
upload and how do I do it?

Please, Please, Please let me know in detail....
(Gimme some good links that explain in detail.....).

Thank u very much!

I am waiting.

Imtiaz.
