There are a few documents you may want to read:

	"Page replacement in Linux 2.4 memory management"
	http://surriel.com/lectures/

	"Design elements of the FreeBSD VM"
	http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/articles/vm-design/

Not all text of both documents is appropriate, but you should
be able to puzzle together the right pieces ...
