Iomem

Hello,

Can someone please explain me the concepts of IOMEM?
To my understanding CPU allocates IOMEM to the I/O
ports on the devices. The resources allocated are
always greater than that of Memory.
i.e if memory has iomem of
0x00000000 - 0x0009bff - Main Memory
0x00100000 - 0x100100 - Dev A
..
and so on
but in that case if Main memory is 4GB, what would be
the iomem for the other devices.

Thanks,
Sarah
