Thproblewith netem that I see when working in a LAB environment is: 1. Theris no feedback when something is dropped or distorted so you can'correlatthe target devices behaviours with what's going on in thWAN.. This is a big problefor me and it must be a problem for all using netein a lab environmentesting devices connected to a virtual WAN.. Or? 2. Theris no way of inserting static onoff events. Like when pushing this button/sending this command to neteI would likto drop 6 packets ia row. This is useful when testing targesystems for robustness for example. /Anders Nilsson NeInsight > -----Original Message----- > From: VaGelder, Gerri[mailto:vangelder.gerrit at student.ha.be] > Sent: de8 maj 2008 13:49 > To: netealists.linux-foundation.org > Subject: (no subject) > > Dear Sir > > I'a studenfrom a college in Antwerp, called "Hogeschool Antwerpen". > = > I'studying for Industrial engineer and I'now in my third year. > > Threason for this mail is a probleI have with PHPnetemGUI. I'doing this by executing 2 tc commands: # tc qdisc add dev eth1 roohandl1:0 netem delay 100ms # tc qdisc add dev eth1 paren1:1 handl10:0 netem loss 20% thprobelis that the first qdisc (delay 100ms) is ignored, the loss works fine. # tc qdisc ls dev eth1 gives me: qdisc nete1: roolimit 1000 delay 100.0ms qdisc nete10: paren1:1 limit 1000 loss 20% ilooks likthe 2 rules are correctly set up. Is this something thasetting thtimer frequency to a higher value, such as1000 Hz, would help with? Currently iis seto 250 Hz. Thanks.
