MARS PHOENIX MEDIA TELECONFERENCE SCHEDULED FOR TODAY

PASADENA, Calif. - NASA and the University of Arizona, Tucson, will 
hold a media teleconference at 10 a.m. PDT, to report on the latest 
developments concerning the bright material discovered in the Martian 
soil by the Phoenix Mars Lander.

Briefing participants:

- Peter Smith, principal investigator, University of Arizona, Tuscon
- Barry Goldstein, Phoenix project manager, NASA's Jet Propulsion 
Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.

To participate in the teleconference, reporters should contact the JPL 
Media Relations Office at 818-354-5011 by 9:30 a.m. for the call-in 
number and passcode.
