DELGADO NAMED NASA'S SMALL BUSINESS ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR

NASA Deputy Administrator Shana Dale announced Tuesday Glenn A. 
Delgado has been appointed the assistant administrator for the Office 
of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization. 

Delgado will serve as advisor to NASA's associate administrator, 
Institutions and Management for all agency small business matters. He 
will provide executive leadership and policy direction for developing 
and implementing policies and initiatives throughout NASA to ensure 
small and disadvantaged businesses are afforded opportunities to 
compete for agency contracts. 

Delgado comes to NASA from the U.S. Navy, where he was acting director 
of the Small Business Programs Office. He previously served as a 
procuring contracting officer on several major weapons' systems at 
the Naval Air Systems Command, where he began his federal career as a 
contract specialist. 

Delgado has a bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire, 
Durham, N.H., and a master's degree in Business Administration from 
Marymount University, Arlington, Va. He has earned several awards, 
including the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award in 1996 and 
2000 and the Department of the Navy Fiscal Year 2000 Competition and 
Procurement Excellence Award.
