I am using CentOS (From what I can tell a redhat offshoot for enterprise
development). It uses yum. I have verified fontconfig is installed,
however when I use fc-list it give a null list.

IE:
# fc-list
#

Freetype is installed too, and I looked for packages containing common fonts
and found none. So i installed some other dpi fonts and still receive an
empty fc-list result.
Any clue? X is not installed seeing if that will fix the problem though it
seems x shouldn't need to be installed for fonts to install properly. I
will try it and any suggestions here. If I can keep only yum installs I
want to. Makes maintaining easier.

Thanks.
