No, neither work.
Mplayer is unable to demux the stream, either directly from DVB or file.
But dumping video and audio separately work. The following also works:
mplayer dvb://<HD channel name> -dumpvideo
And same with -dumpaudio. But with these I can't get both video and sound at
the same time.
What I don't understand is how can it dump the video if it can't demux? And
maybe how to fix it?

The answer is the usual one: the TS didn't include the PAT and PMT pids.
Read in the docs how to include them
or simply add 8192 to one of the pids, then use TAB to switch between
programs
