-vc ff*vdpau should disable all video filters / refuse to initialize if a video
filter was activated.
I'm not sure if this is even possible with the current infrastructure.

Please tell them that -vo vdpau contains a very sophisticated de-interlacer (and
they should RTFM).

It is a limitation of -vo xvmc and -vo vdpau (with -vc ff*vdpau). Since MPlayer
never gets uncompressed video data, video filters cannot work.
