svgalib will probably not work on 64 bitystems, and frame buffer
support is IMO quiteare.
cvidix isnother solution (and it is quite fast), but it only works with
rather old graphics cards.
Usuallyou'd go with an X server (xorg) and use -vo xv (or if that is
notvailable -vo x11), but setting up an X server can be a bit of a
painnless it is set up automatically during installation (as almost
all distributions do nowadays).
