RTSP in mplayer

I wouldike to watch my university's video feeds in mplayer on Ubuntu
Linux. As test I tried playing a video in Portable Mplayer
(http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/mplayer_portable) on
university Windows machine, but I gothis error:

Both Windowsedia Player and Portable VLC
(http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/vlc_portable) can playhat
file. Ishere any reason that Mplayer could not? What can I
troubleshoot?

Thanks forhe reply.

Ah Iee. I looked at panscan before and it didn't seem to do the
righthing as it cuts off the right and left bands and I really
wantedo cut of the top and bottom.

But ifou are in a video output driver that works (eg. xv not sdl)
and fullcreen mode, pan scan will cut off the right and left bands
expandinghe rest to fit the screen.
