You can use -vo x11 or -vo gl, or -vf screenshot filter. As about font, if your mplayer is build with fontconfig, try "-font Arial" option (or write font=Arial in config). You can use any font even without fontconfig, however it requires providing full path to font file, and fontconfig is required for ssa/ass support anyway. -- Vladimir
