Thanks. Do I want OS2008HE though? I don't want the most recent software
a 770 can possibly run if that software is going to be slow or buggy.
I'd rather go for the most recent software that will run well on a 770,
and then I'd like to get email working well and get a shell (hopefully
with access to the debian repos via apt).

I do not recommend you to use OS2008HE... Nevertheless, I think I can really help you, since I'm still using 770 and a real fanboy of this device...  I (still) use it at work!!!

So that I'll be as helpful as possible... just ask for it...

First start playing with your new device, and in a few days I'll send you some important tips in order to bring your 770 to full power...
