You are right, this bug is not connected to the Ctrl+Alt+O easter egg in maemo browser, it showed up before i even knew about this easter egg. Restarting the device did work, no more buggy portrait mode. Besides, I deinstalled the "Break" app as proposed in http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=443651 Thanks alot.
