This statement is not only wrong, but highly arrogant. Do NOT try to tell people what they "want", when they know perfectly well what the options are and most definitely prefer POP to IMAP. IMAP may be great for you, but for me it's a bloated, unwieldy piece of crap. POP is *exactly* what I want, and being able to remove individual messages from the server at will, and leave NO messages on the server permanently, is exactly what I need.
